'Flow' is a musical visualization of the ever changing movement of water:
trickling when it emerges, floating when the stream broadens, rushing down in ever stronger currents, meandering through the woods or moving silently into a lake that ripples with the touch of wind. Yet always in motion and in the end reaching its destiny in the ever rolling waves of the sea.
Everything seems to change, yet the water is the same.
'Flow' was written in the summer of 1999 for flutist Harrie Starreveld and pianist René Eckhardt.
It was commissioned by the Fonds voor de Scheppende Toonkunst.
