Aroma

In Aroma mandolin and guitar try to communicate by following and imitating eachother's sounds. Ironically, that is exactly what highlights the differences between the instruments. It often leads to confusion, but at other moments to coherence. In this way the musical melange that is reflected in the title of the composition, was created.

The composition was awarded the first prize in the Vienna Composition contest for contemporary music in 1997.
